Picture1Hope most of you have managed to pop in to try some of the most recent specials we’ve had on! We have been making the most of our wonderful local spring time ingredients, we’ve had some beautiful local and Welsh wild garlic, samphire from Oxford and the Gower Peninsula (where I spent all of my childhood holidays) as well as some great quality spring time mushrooms; morels, moussaron, coral, and St George’s which have been paired with some very tasty lamb, beef and duck dishes.

We’ve also made the most of the sadly short season of Jersey royals using some great quality Vraic Jersey Royals from one of our suppliers Ritter Courivaud. I’ve used them in a variety of dishes, including the most recent lamb dish and also the very popular pan fried salmon dish consisting of courgette spaghetti, sun blushed tomatoes, spring onions, toasted pine nuts and lemon & pesto dressing.

Coming up in the next few weeks and months, following the great success of the launch we have our second pudding club on the 23rd of June. Expect a selection of great traditional British desserts along with a few more modern & exciting flavour combinations.

Also for the next fish and fizz Friday, on Friday the 24th of June, receive a glass of fizz each and have thePicture2 choice of two main fish dishes, from our normal menu or from our specials menu, these will depend on what is in season, fresh and of great quality from our local supplier.

Also coming up soon we have the beer festival on the 18th and 19th of June, we will be running a BBQ and hog roast menu along with some summer pub classics! Come and enjoy some fabulous live music, pub games and great beer in our gorgeous garden! Father’s Day is also on the 19th so make sure to book a table to treat your Dad to a fabulous Sunday Roast!  – each dad gets a present from us too J

We are also about to launch our new summer menu which will consist of a wider selection of burgers such as the chicken Caesar burger, the veggie burger: Butternut squash & chickpea and our new Seven Stars summer burger. With a greater selection of salads, sides and also a light bites menu.

Hope you can all pop by soon to test out our new menu and also try the new ever changing summer specials that will be on for you to try throughout summer!!!!

We will also be catering for the Baldon’s Feast, on the 20th of August, so if you’re thinking of coming down keep an eye out for our tent, which will consist of a massive hog roast open from 12pm.
